India has won the 2011 Cricket World Cup by 6 wickets over Sri Lanka.
MS Dhoni crushed a six on the final ball to complete the chase for the Indians, who overcame a 274-run inning by their opponent, despite losing their first two batsmen (including "the master" Sachin Tendulkar) in the opening overs ......
It's India's first World Cup championship in 28 years.

Given that India has so many millions more cricket fans and players than other countries, shouldn’t they win every time? Especially now that the English and the Australians are losing or have already lost interest in the sport? Is it that India doesn’t have the resources to develop all of its talent? Or are the West Indians that much more skillful and passionate?
Nothing to do with number of people.

My son plays competitive soccer. His High School team was won the state championship two years in a row, look to threepeat.
I can't stand the sport.
Interest in cricket in the anglosphere has remained more or less constant in the past two decades. If anything it has increased in England due to newer innovative formats and better performances from the national side.
Usual occurence in Pakistan during Indo-Pak cricket matches-

Well India beat Pakistan on Wednesday and no unhappy incident occurred.
