I believe that the $9.95 is for a one year subscription, after that it will be $19.95 per year, every year.
Their subscription model leads me to believe that future “upgrades” will arrive quicker (and thus force a payment for the new license), so that it won’t be $20 but will be more like $20 per year. Like many corporations, Siber Systems, wants to turn its customers into tenant farmers, never letting the customer own anything. For that reason, I want out; I don’t want to rent my software.
I only care about the plugin. I am happy with version 6 functionality, so do not need the “upgrade” to version 7. They will continue to develop the plugin for newer customers, so I see little real reason to discontinue support for older licenses.

That’s for their 2go version that lets you sync between computers. The standalone desktop upgrade was a flat 9.95 fee from version 6 to version 7 without an annual continuity fee. They’re pushing the 2go version because of the steady income. Didn’t take them up on it.
