"Latin" America is and has always been part of the cultural west, aside from the Amerindian minorities (and in the case of Bolivia and Guatemala, majorities) or Afro-Latinos. Only us Yanks are foolish enough to think otherwise.

None of this changes the fact that the illegals should have been deported yesterday. Latin Americans (even the mestizos) are western people, something that can never be said of the Asians and middle easterners who arrive here in large numbers everyday.
