The show starts off with home video footage of Lauren (at age 10) and Scotty (at age 8). Lauren was singing. Scotty was doing some sort of skit. He said "Pwease welcome Amewican Idol ..." echo, echo ...
Huge finale crowd.
Seacrest asks Lauren about a rumor that she had lost her voice.
Lauren says she's fine. Her voice sounds okay.
Seacrest waves the Dr. onto the stage.
Official Idol Doctor: Lauren was really pushing it out (during rehearsal). Blew out one of her vocal chords. We gave her a lot of medicine. She's gonna do great. (audience cheers)

LAUREN BLEW A VOCAL CORD. She better take it easy or she’ll blow out the other one and be on injured reserve for months and months.

Scotty McCreery
Three rounds tonight, three songs each.
Round One: Favorite Song of the Season
Scotty's choice is Montgomery Gentry's "Gone". Performs it just as well as before. Lots of Ferlie arms waving at the foot of the stage this time.
No critique by the judges for this one. Hm. Gotta keep things on schedule, I guess. (We already know what they'd say anyway)
I also like I don't have to type Randy saying "In it to win it!" for the billionth time.

Lauren Alaina
Lauren's favorite song of the season: Carrie Underwood's "Flat On The Floor".
Her voice seems a little week at first, but gains strength as she goes on. If Seacrest hadn't said anything I'd never know she had a problem.
No judges' comments here either. But J-Lo and Randy giver her a standing-O. Maybe Steven stood too, but the camera cut away.
