Is it still safe to go to Dodger games anymore?
A prayer vigil set for Wednesday evening in honor of Brian Stow the San Francisco Giants fan who was attacked on Sunday in a post-game parking lot brawl will likely bring renewed focus on safety concerns at Dodger Stadium.
One man told KNX 1070 he wouldnt be worried about his safety at a Dodger game, while another said he wouldnt even bother going to a game, saying there is a larger problem with the mentality of Dodger fans.
Were talking about people who are taking their kids to the ballpark, theyre hearing obscenities left and right, theyre bothered by drunks, said [Los Angeles Times columnist T.J.] Simers. Theres a feeling of threats, people cutting in front of lines, people flashing a knife in their pants to show they can go where they want.
Team officials continue to face growing pressure to boost security at the Elysian Park site an effort even Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa has joined after producing a public service announcement calling for fans from both cities to cool their traditional rivalry.

You’re ok as long as you root root root for the home team.
Sounds like a typical session of congress...
Oh, and in San Francisco, be sure you don’t let slip that you don’t LOVE Barack Obama. That’s not save either.
Youre ok as long as you root root root for the home team.
And
You don’t mind hundreds of drunken idiots.
If Chavez Ravine were a Nightclub,Club,Bar,.... it would have been shut down years ago as a PUBLIC NUISANCE. With the amount of CRIME generated there it should be closed Permanently.

Cutting in front of lines is definitely a Mexican charecteristic.
sounds like a regular little romping round for gangbangers. amazing V went to games there... or not. ;-)
I’ve heard that it used to be quite safe to go to Dodgers games — back when they were in Brooklyn...
It’s even much safer in the Bronx where the Yankees play.
Elyian - adj. - Blissful; delightful.
Sounds like such a nice place...
Twenty years ago the crowd in the bleachers at Dodger Stadium was beginning to get a little ugly — but even then it was a nice place to see a ballgame. Now...no way.
Looks like those darned Amish have moved out west and are causing trouble there.
It used to very nice.
Los Doyers encourage this by offering $10 tickets in the bleachers, which are as lawless as the tribal region of Afghanistan.
If they really cared, they would price out the rabble.

Not sure if it has changed, but if you purchase a ticket in the bleachers, there are no concessions that sell alcohol to the bleacher seats, and you cannot leave the bleacher area to enter another concourse. At least that is the way it used to be.
They drink in the parking lot before the game. They don’t don’t spend $8 for a beer.
The Dodgers are purposefully marketing to this particular segment.
In ~2002 I attended a Dodgers’ game (vs the Cardinals)... I was wearing a NY Yankees’ cap. I remember leaving at game’s end and two dudes started asking questions - I really didn’t know what they were getting at... I remember getting in my car and having a real uneasy feeling about what just took place. I followed the line of cars out of the parking lot to the highway ... I wanted to get the hell out of there.
Until then, not a chance.
Chavez Ravine is KNOWN throughout the league as no place to be. Most LA fans won't go there.
Sure, they had 56k for Opening Day...then ~13k for the following 3 with the World Champion Giants.
AT&T Park in SF fills up darn near every night and certainly every day.
They were pretty rude to Rangers fans during the World Series.
