For the last few days, they’ve objected to being sat on. Doesn’t look like they are this morning.

They are amazing!

Some of the links from the Raptor Resource don’t have IR at night, so you get black screens.

Use this one: http://www.ustream.tv/decoraheagles it’s live right now and has IR at night. I’ve only seen it down once while they rebooted.

Yes, it is. Have you noticed that it’s Daddy who tends to tidy the nest?

They are changing right now.

The way the are lined up right now, you can sure see the size difference with the different hatching days.

I was worried the largest chick was backing off the nest, turns out it was just getting ready to excrete. He then moved back into the feeding line.

My wife has been watching for a couple weeks and sometimes the server can’t handle the traffic.

83000 viewers right now, I don’t know what their max is.

Two weeks ago today the first chick hatched. I recall seeing about 165,000 viewers at that time.

Some time on the 2nd or 3rd of April it was reported that their sever crashed from too many viewers.

Eagle chicks do grow very fast so mom and dad will be spending more and more time finding food for the 3 chicks. I believe it will be after June 1 before the young eagles are able to fly from the nest some 75 feet above the ground.

Using infrared cameras it is a 24/7 site.

I found out what it is.

I have the Adblock Firefox add-on, and the stream will not initialize until he shows you the ads.

I know. We've got two puppies who are now big enough, but we had to watch them carefully when they were small due to all the Eagles and Hawks around here.

“And how many innocent, defenseless little creatures have the monsters of the avian world torn up alive and fed to its baby monsters?
Hate raptors.”

We had a problem with gophers and moles tearing up our yard until a pair of red-tailed hawks set up housekeeping and lunch was served. The armadillos were even more destructive but too big for the hawks. Mr. Mossberg took care of that particular problem.

Careful, this can be addicting.

A friend sent an email with the address of the eagle web site to a couple of people. Sure enough addiction followed.

I received this email from him:

Subject: Eagle Hatch

As for the eagles, I sent it to Casey and Darrell's wife Jan and they both set alarms for the middle of the night to get up and check on them, Darrell said if I ever sent her something like that again my days are numbered.

Weeeelllllllll, with that in mind and the 1st hatch date just happened to fall on April fools day.....

I called each up this morning and with a somber voice I said " well, I didn't know if you had checked the eagle this morning or not?"

Luckily neither had and both said "NO WHY!!?" and I although it took everything not to crack up. I said " well, sometime late last night or early this morning a raccoon got hold of her and ate her head and then ate the eggs"

You can not believe the total unrestrained rage unleashed on said non existent raccoon,

I kind of felt sorry for him till they started to realize what date it was, needless to say I will be sleeping with one eye open for a while....

Has something to do with wildlife being wild. Its just what they do. I suppose we smart humans could step in and inject some bovine DNA to try to make them all vegitarian...or vegitavian I guess.

I live in NW Washington where small doggies get snatched up while in the city parks.

There’s little suffering though....the talons on these amazing birds crush rib cages like egg shells. My point is they’ve long since past by the time they make it to the nest.
