Vanity rant/question
4/16/2011 | me

I went to breakfast this morning at Eat 'N Park in PIttsburgh. When I pulled into the parking lot, the spaces next to the handicapped spots were open so I thought, "Sweet! I"m gonna get a rock star parking spot" but as I pulled in, I noticed a sign posted in this spot that said "Reserved for Those Driving Hybrid Vehicles". I was PISSED! Has anyone else noticed this? Is it a new trend? Am I that out of the loop?

I plan to call their corporate office tomorrow & complain. I, the paying customer, do not appreciate being treated like a second-class citizen because they don't care for my choice of car. Tough crap. It's a shame & rather surprising since this is a restaurant chain that prints "God Bless America" at the bottom of their receipts. I always patronized them for this reason; I think it takes guts to put that on your receipts in a progressive cesspool like Pittsburgh

Park there anyway. Hybrid drivers might be a little unstable but they are perfectly capable of walking a few extra steps for a plate of grits.

Just park there anyway. Tell them it is a hybrid vehicle, because sometimes you have to push it down the street due to the high gas prices.

Park there in a SUV and explain that it IS a hybrid, between a car and a truck...

I second that motion......fuggem and the jackasses they rode in on.

Do the hybrid drivers get a carbon emission discount on the food as well?

This is nothing. The next signs will read: “Conservatives need not apply.” Then we’ll reach the final frontier, when signs read: “We don’t serve Christians here...except to the dogs.”

I haven’t seen any hybrid car parking spaces, but I’ve seen and been mildly annoyed at pregnant woman parking spaces, parents of small children parking spaces, and old folks parking spaces.

You’d like this. The owner of Yesterday’s Cafe, in Rutledge, GA, drives a Humvee. The best parking space in the lot has a sign that says, “Reserved for Humvee. All others will be crushed.”

They’re good folks, and they just may have the best fried okra in Georgia.

The one thing that really gets under my skin are the perfectly healthy people who abuse the handicapped spaces. They may have a handicapped sticker for their disabled grandmother, and rightfully so, but that does not entitle them to park there is she is not in the car.

I once asked a police officer about this and he told me that technically they are not breaking the law, because they do have the sticker, so therefore he cannot ticket them for abusing it. However he did admit, that ethically and morally they are definitely in the wrong.

What is a Eat’N park for the unknowing it sound kinda like a restaurant, but would bea Park N’EAT?

Eat “N Park is a Pittsburgh-based chain of diners. It originated I think in the 1950s. Funny you should ask because when I was a kid, I remember telling my dad that it should be Park ‘N Eat.

All I wanted this morning was some good old fashioned greasy eggs & pancakes. Too damn bad those libtards had to ruin it for me.

I don’t understand why a hybrid car would need a spot close to the handicapped ones. Unless it is close to an electrical outlet for them to plug in their cars to recharge. Not sure if a sign like that is legal or just done as a “courtesy”...kind of like the parking signs for women that are pregnant or with young children.

I'd tell them it does have an EGR "delete" kit in it! (which it does...lol.)
