I'm gonna go out on a limb and say that, those you are responding to probably have no clue what you mean when you say this incident did not occur in a vacuum...

Its the only reason I can think of why so many here move to defend the undefendable.

I will give my personal experiance:

I have been likened to Charles Mansen for wanting to enforce the 4th Amendment.

2. I have been accused of being a convicted Felon.

3. I have been physically threatened by self described law enforcement officers for various stands I have taken. Yes, on the threads.

4. I have had the “F” bomb dropped on me for opposition to red light cameras, cell phone laws, seat belt laws etc.

Anybody else care to tell their stories?

We’re usually just called “cop haters” for the act of posting the news story itself absent any comments.

I don’t quite get how posting a news story is cop hating, and the ones who employ that response has not been able to explain it...

Reminds me of an incident a year or two ago when I took my girls to see the city fireworks. Long story short, the police started harassing me about sitting on private property that had been opened to the public. I asked them if there had been a complaint, and they started puffing up like peacocks. It soon became evident that even though they had no authority whatsoever, they were going to escalate the incident to arresting me, if I didn’t concede to their unlawful demands.
Despite the fact that the area had been opened to the public and there was no complaint, they were declaring that it was trespassing, but trespassing requires that you not be invited and that the owner doesn't want you there.

More and more agencies are going to individual video cameras that officers are mandated to wear and record every officer/citizen encounter. They are expensive but in ten years they will be widespread.

Do you know the guy taping this video? Do you know what was going on before the COP stopped or why he was there in the first place? Do you know what gestures the guy taping the video was making etc? Do you know what action was taken by the police department against the officer if he was acting out of line? What other than the so expertly advice of some babel head do “you” actually know about this event? Other than speculation, conjecture and hyperbole, what do you have in terms of facts outside of a video?

You ask lots of questions but seems you didn't read the story or view the video. The charges were dropped.

I would assume the charges being completely dropped would give you an indication of the credibility of the charges against the victim and behavior of the officer.

The Law and Order camp and the constitutional conservation camp.

"Law and Order" is the wrong term. Unquestionable Authority is more like it. Constitutional = Law. One law for everyone is the key with the people charged with law enforcement being no less subject to and restricted by the law than anyone else.

I think it unacceptable that we have two different measures for justifiable shootings based upon who the shooter is.

These cops should be fired AND charged with assault. Additionally, every state should have laws criminalizing the abuse of authority (and enforce them).

Who can initiate a trespassing complaint is VERY well defined in Nevada.

That was for someone who was "salvagable". IMO the cop should get fifty lashes and never be allowed to serve again.
