ANCHORAGE (AP) — For years, the man known as Rafael Espinoza was widely respected as an exemplary police officer popular among his peers here.

All that ended last week when the authorities accused him of actually being Rafael Mora-Lopez, a Mexican citizen who stole another man’s identity and was in the United States illegally.

“His reputation here is one of a hard-working officer, one who was very professional,” Chief Mark Mew of the Anchorage police said Friday in announcing Mr. Mora-Lopez’s arrest. “The problem, obviously, is he is not Rafael Espinoza.” posted using frpa

I took a trip to Alaska about 6 years ago, and I was surprised at the number of Mexicans. I had the same WT$ reaction. Alaska? What, do you hate hot weather?

I have a Peruvian friend here in Atlanta and the guy freezes in moderate weather. He nearly drives his wife out by running the heat all the time.

Maybe they’re pre-positioning themselves for “The Day”.

It’s NOT an impossibility.

Remember, these people are talking “Reconquista” and revolution.

I know, I know...tinfoil hat time...BUT...

Maybe with some fringe groups, but I think this guy was basically a good person and did a good job. He made a bad mistake in taking someone’s identity. He committed a crime and has to pay for it.

Judging by his record, it is too bad he didn’t come in legally. It is a valuable lesson to any illegals here that they should go back home and come back the right way. They might be doing ok now, but their crime could catch up to them someday.

Now, contrast this identity stealer who did a good job as opposed to Obama who has a lot of circumstantial evidence of identity theft or not changing his name legally and social security fraud. Soetoro/Dunham has done a horrible job and has damaged the nation substantially.

I would rather have the former Alaska Police officer as our chief law enforcement officer than Barry. Neither appear to be eligible.

I wonder what the recent focus of the NYT, AP, etc. has been with Alaska lately...

But in actuality, he seems like a good man at heart but he is still a criminal.

My friend, you are a LOT more forgiving than I am - he STOLE someone else’s IDENTITY. He could have WRECKED another person’s life by doing so.

He’s a theif, a liar, and a scoundrel and should be thrown in jail, then have his ass booted out of the country.

Al Capone did some good things for people too, but he was still a criminal.

Sorry good brother, but my compassion for these invaders has long since dried up. Our ancestors came here legally, did it the right way. He should have too.

No excuse for it.

I see your point. I just had to laugh a little about ancestors coming here legally. At least one of mine was brought over as an indentured servant. He was legally bound. :-)

I am thankful for his bondage and efforts.

I know what you are saying about the id theft and you are right.

“..At least one of mine was brought over as an indentured servant. He was legally bound. :-)...”

Yes, and for all that, your ancestor didn’t steal someone else’s LIFE. He came the way he did, paid whatever dues he had to pay, and became an American, and probably got down on his knees and thanked the Lord for his good fortune.

The whole illegal immigrant thing sets me off. These people are dancing across our border, pissing on our laws, pissing on our culture, heritage, and pissing on our PEOPLE, and hold us in nothing but contempt - as witnesses by stealing someone else’s life.

I don’t care how hard working this scumbag is - he’s stll a scumbag. Posing as a COP of all things - enforcing law while all the time laughing up his sleeve and pissing all over the laws that WE have have to live by.

He should be made a very harsh example of.
