I won’t say this definitely places him in the NO column, but it is darn close.

Maybe not for you, but it sure places him in the "NO" column for anyone concerned with 2nd amendment rights.

Throw Romney in jail.

I'm dead serious. If there are those who aren't as serious, they are part of the problem. Actually, I think that is a timid response. I vote for rule .303 or the "Henry Bowman" option ;)

Governor Mitt Romney has signed into law a permanent assault weapons ban that he says will make it harder for criminals to get their hands on these guns.

What criminals? I guess in the peoples' democracy of MA, anyone other than a government apparatchick is a criminal.

Deadly assault weapons have no place in Massachusetts, Romney said,

Good to know that the governments' JBTs will be giving theirs up.

The government of MA fearing that NY has held the title of "most anti-gun state" too long is now taking steps to win the title.

“Deadly assault weapons have no place in Massachusetts, Romney said”

I'm sure the Loyalist governor of Massachusetts said something similar about those "deadly Brown Bess assault muskets", and "deadly Kentucky Assault Rifles". Good thing for us, Captain John Parker, et al, didn't listen.

Scouts Out! Cavalry Ho!

"I would rather fight Obama for 4 more years than put up with Mitt Romney".

At first I gasped at your statement...but after some thought I tend to agree. Hmmmmm

"I love the M16/AR15 platform and own several actually but the Uzi is a superior weapon (out to 200 rads at least). The M16 isn’t as durable".

If you meant yards you should look up ballistic tables of 9mm and .223. A 9mm is not exactly effective at 200 yards. At 200 yards the drop is 18 to 20 inches and a 115gr 9mm will be down to 847fps and 185ftlbs. of energy. The .223 has a drop of 9 inches and is still going 2201fps and has 592ftlbs. of energy. Note that this a more energy than a +p 9mm at the muzzle.

Not only that but it's a gas blow back system that fires from an open bolt so it's every bit as dirty as an AR. Short of literally running over an AR it will be every bit as dependable as the UZI. I do not suggest running over any firearms (even the much vaunted AK derivatives) and expect them to still work.

Oh...and to not derail the thread Romney is RINO at best and shouldn't even be considered as a viable candidate.

Machine guns are illegal and have been for over 60 years.

Fully automatic guns are 100% legal to own. They just need to be manufactured prior to 1986, and you have to pay the Feds a $200 tax when they change ownership.

100% spot on correct. Moreover, in all the time that Class III select fire/full auto firearms have been subject to strict regulation... in ALL that time, only ONE crime was committed by the holder of such a tax stamped authorized firearm. That individual was a police officer who had access to full auto anyway! Additionally, a new wrinkle has been added to the intrepretation of the McClure/Volkmer Act that prohibited new weapons produced after 1986. A study ascertained that the only part in the weapon subject to regulation was the SEAR, so now in a semi/full (select fire) auto type weapon only the SEAR need be registered under Class III regulations. So a few years ago, brand new H&K MP5's started appearing on the market in select fire versions and the SEAR was the registered part and had to have been of 1986 or prior manufacture.

>Near as I can tell, he’s the same as Obama except for the islam.

I quite agree; I can see no major difference between Obama and Romney. That is why he is so dangerous, IMO; people may be inclined to believe that he is different — because of the little letter next to his name — and think that voting based on that qualifies as “turning the country around.” It would probably be better to keep Obama in office than to let people think that.

IMO, the Congress is where we need to get people who will oppose injustice “with manly firmness.” This because the Congress can impeach not only a President but Supreme Court Justices and Federal Judges as well.

"Machine guns are illegal and have been for over 60 years."

Nope. Buy the stamp (i.e. pay the "tax") and buy the machine gun. Lots of folks own fully automatic weapons, including REAL assault rifles, machine guns, etc. Not cheap to keep'em fed, but perfectly legal to own (at least by federal law).

"I don't generally believe in political litmus tests, except for issues like the right to keep and bear arms."

The RKBA is the only litmus test needed. If they're wrong on that, then they shouldn't be in public office....period.

“They are instruments of destruction with the sole purpose of hunting down and killing people.”

Which is why I guess the police need to have them.

Glad you posted this —even if it’s from 2004 it bears repeating just what sort of a$$monkey Romney really is. Thank God I live in Arizona!
