That’s good to know. I’m on the Avast forum as an “evangelist” and do this from time to time. Believe me, NO anti-virus app is 100% fool-proof.
I even had Norton 360 a year ago and malware hit it so bad, the malware would not let me re-boot the laptop. Had AVG one time, same results.
It depends on how nasty the malware is, usually I hit it first with GMER, but if I really want to detect and destroy first, I would run COMBOFIX to not waste time. Mind you, these tools are all FREE and updated by the every anti-virus guy from Norton to kaspersky to AVG, and every tech guy uses them. I am proud to say that I have never EVER re-boot the system and gave up..I always do my best to recover the hard drive before total re-boot.
I probably save myself alot of trouble because I run MRU-Blaster and C Cleaner every time I before I shutdown and or before midnight if I’m staying up late.
