Granted, Wayne was before my time, so I lack the appropriate appreciation, but wow. Some of you guys seem believe he was the character, and not the one lunged actor who sat in a chair on oxygen between takes.

What’s with you Texans and your hate-on for John Wayne? I haven’t seen so much Texas spewing hatred since you guys told me that Rudy Guiliani did nothing for NYC so I shouldn’t appreciate him, lol!

Well, I got other things to do now, so I’ll sign off.

No. What we know is that he was the embodiment of those roles. He stood up for American ideals outside his roles and, given the Hollywood Obamunist scum we have today he is sorely missed because of it.

I will say I disagree with some of the others here. In his movies I don’t think he acting so much as just being himself. It’s part of why he was so believable. Sort of like Audie Murphy playing himself. He not only acted it, he lived it.

Or, to look at the other side of the coin, it’s sort of like it’s easy for Madonna to play a slut because she IS a slut.

John Wayne was an actor. John Wayne was also the real deal.
