Atlanta, Ga. - Saturday morning, two woman plunged 10 stories out of a window at the W Hotel in midtown Atlanta after a round of 'play fighting,' according to police.

LaShawna Threatt, an aspiring model was celebrating her 30th birthday at the posh hotel when the incident occurred. She was killed as a result of the fall.

Ciara Williams, the other woman involved in the 'play fighting,' also fell, but rolled off a ledge and then fell the remaining 20 feet onto the patio below. She remains in critical condition at Grady Memorial Hospital, Atlanta Police Department spokesperson Carlos Campos told the press.

Witnesses reported seeing the women crash through the window at about 3:15 a.m.

Atlanta Police Lt. Paul Guerrucci said “It appears there was no malicious act, no foul play, they were just wrestling with each other, they hit the window, the window broke, and they fell out.”

Threatt worked as a model doing party promotions for beverage companies, according to AJC.com.

Williams is a background urban dancer, who also owns her own marketing company, Passionate Chonvill told AJC.

RIP to the woman.

"Play fighting" is pretty stupid, and I can only assume there was a lot of drinking involved. I have known many people who go sort of crazy when it involves "my birthday." It really is a celebration of yourself, and I have to say I hate my own birthday. I don't like the attention at all.

My daughter works in a hospital, and comes home with stories of the outrageous names given to children. Hint: not all the wild stories about mothers giving infants names of bodily functions or hospital jargon they overhear in the hospital are Snopes legends.

Sounds like racism.

Isaac Newton hates black people. Gravity: it's not just a good idea, it's the law.

Shouldn’t a hotel window on the 10th floor be strong enough to withstand someone falling against it?

We need OSHA to require restraining bars on all hotel windows, immediately!!!!!!!! There is NO problem which cannot be solved by government regulation. Provided that by "solved" you mean "greatly exacerbated".

I was thinking along the same lines, however... Common sense is incumbent on everyone.

Justa couple of stoned sista strippers “play fighting” through the window. Naquisha was the ref, but when axed, said she “didn’t see no foul”.

“I was thinking along the same lines, however... Common sense is incumbent on everyone.”

Sure, but what if you’re a 240Lb man and stumble and fall against the window? Should you expect that you’re not going to fall thru it to your death?

Last year, my wife was reading the new baby announcements in the newspaper and came across twins named ... Winn and Dixie.
