Short-term frustration for long-term gain.

Hasn't always been clear on the concept.

The last shot he hit before withdrawing from the TPC was a 279 yard five wood, and that was after a 327 yard drive. I wish I could hit it that far healthy.

Does that mean he’ll be playing in the “US Closed” instead?

In this case, it might just be as simple as rebuilding his swing-—again.

Looks like Tiger is finished. I know a guy that he can play with now that he is unpopular and washed up.

John is also a lot of fun at the bars and pick up joints.

No doubt the guy is an amazing golfer and should be admired for it. A shame he wasn’t a better person.

If nothing else, Tiger has become a wonderful example for young athletes to show them how morality and decency does play a part in one’s athletic career. (Unless you play for the NBA.)

Since we are talking about lady-killer Woods and the Open is being played at Congressional, maybe “DC Confidential” is a more likely answer.

Well said and golf has been exemplary with a very few exceptions.

That's the way the world goes 'round.

I live 10 miles from Muirfield. Had the tournament on in the background and did a double take because as it poured in Dublin, we were bone dry and fairly sunny.

Tiger and Jim Tressel can go on the speaking circuit together.

That was tongue in cheek, right?

Even before he went buff his swing put more pressure on his left side than any golfer I ever remember seeing play. His left knee was never going to be able to take the punishment. The problem for Woods is that whenever the pressure is on, the tendency is to go back to what you know. Doing that damages his knee again.

The young bucks aren't scared of him. He isn't the longest driver on the course anymore. Doubtful he will ever return to this former dominance. He will be competitive, sure, but not dominant.
