Maybe the charger is the problem?

Which brings up the possibility of a power blip/surge which might have fried the batteries if they were all recharging at the time.

Maybe the charger is the problem?

That was my guess - either a bad charger frying each set of batteries in turn, or a power surge with all three plugged in for a thunderstorm.
