I agree. I'm the same way as a lot of these Pacific theater veterans are, but with a different group. You see, the only people that have shot at me have all had the same religion in common. You can probably guess what that religion might be...

Interestingly, Grandpa didn't share any of that hatred of the Germans. He blamed the Nazis, the government, but not the people - in general, be spoke highly of them. Particularly of the German dentist who fixed his teeth, and whose bridgework lasted almost 50 years (try finding work that good in today's times.... )

However, he once told me that after visiting a concentration camp, he had no doubt as to who the good guys were, or why he was overseas.
