Source: Indianapolis Star HUNTINGTON, Ind. -- The family of former Vice President Dan Quayle has sold its newspaper holdings to Paxton Media Group, ending more than 70 years of ownership of the northeastern Indiana daily. /snip/ The late James C. Quayle, father of Dan Quayle, purchased The Herald-Press in 1964. It had been part of Indianapolis-based Central Newspapers, owned by James Quayle's father-in-law, Eugene C. Pulliam, for 34 years. Dan Quayle, who was vice president from 1989-93 under George H.W. Bush, once worked at the newspaper. He and his wife, Marilyn, once operated their Quayle & Quayle law office from the second floor of the newspaper building. The couple now lives in Arizona.
Good for them.
