The first has the saving grace of an excellent plot and a great over-the-top performance by Warren Oates.
The latter is an English crime drama without a strong plot, yet it is more than just a vehicle for a lot of blood and shooting. 'Dark comedy', 'gangster satire' or 'existential drama' only begin to describe this unique and worthwhile look at the very seamy side of life -- and death.
