Back in 1970 there were many beautiful places in the world — ever been in Landau or Burghausen when a beer cost 1 Mark and there were 3.75 Marks to the dollar?
Hell, that far back even Detroit was half-way liveable.
Never been to either of those places, but went to the Armed Forces Rec Center at Garmisch and Berchtesgaden several times in the 1970s. Beer was about that price, but had a bit more of a kick than what I was used to.
