I say get rid of the Yankees and the Red Sox. I’m sick of hearing about them. :)

That’s....

...actually not a bad idea. Up there with shooting Bud Selig into the sun.

Well, if you think there should be 32 “major league” teams (my personal choice would be 16), how about four eight-team leagues, five game round-robin (A v B, C v D, A v C, B v D), top 2 play World Series?

There is a brand new stadium in coney island where the cyclones play. Doesnt hold a lot of people so they wont be able to pay million dollar salaries.

Would love to eat a $2.00 hot dog and have a $3.00 beer again.

As much as the DH is detested, it does give new, well, extended life to aging assets, and protects the higher-value, with briefer life spans, pitchers from risk.

But, that is business viewpoint, not a purist's.

OTOH, if you have the AL competing for the pitchers that can bat as well, their economic value will rise, and the fans get shafted again.

So, I guess you must be an agent representing a hitting pitcher?

Personally, I don't care. I gave up on baseball with that last strike. I heard Ken Burns promoting his product say that the strike was a good thing, because it brought a so-far, lasting peace between the owners and players, unlike other sports.

You do have to admit that in the 1975 series, Tiant was pretty funny getting a hit, and not knowing what to do.

Put every team into a hat and pick 15 teams for each.

Have 3, 5 team divisions. Division winners and one wildcard.

Done.

For all pitchers unless they played another position in college, they did not get to hit until they got to the major leagues. Colleges all have the DH, as well as all the minor league teams.

I would like to see the NL take the DH for a year and see how they like it.

Up until after highschool the best all around player is probably a very good hitter and pitcher, compared to other players. Then the skill levels at college and beyond just start to require specialization, I guess. Plus there are just very few humans walking the planet that have the skill to either throw a major league fastball consistantly for strikes on the corners or to hit it. Babe Ruth is the best ever, in my opinion, because he was a great pitcher and a god-like hitter. So it can be done. Part of it is the union wanting as many specialized roles as possible too.

I often wonder why more fastball/changeup/curve guys don’t develop a knuckleball as another offspeed pitch. I guess the answer is because it really is just very, very hard to throw at the major league level for strikes. But imagine if a knuckleballer’s fastball was mid-90’s. It would look like 100+mph after seeing the kuckleball. If a person had any type of decent change up, then it would be really rough for the hitters, plus there would be less stress on the arm. I remember seeing a quote of Phil Niekro being asked what would happen if someone like Roger Clemens had a knuckleball like Niekro’s. Niekro said he would have won 600 games.

While I am a purist at heart, putting a kid who hasn’t hit since little league again a major league pitcher is dangerous.

Otherwise, you’re down to smaller cities such as Portland, San Antonio, Oklahoma City, New Orleans, Columbus, Charlotte, Indianapolis as major league baseball expansion sites.

Nashville has been pretty good at supporting NFL and NHL franchises.

Whiskey Tango Foxtrot Over? What kind of sentence structure is that? Anyway, when does college football begin? How many here think the BCS National Championship Game will be between Alabama and Oklahoma?

I’ll give you 10-1 against it.
