He probably could have had a conviction on manslaughter or something similar.

I believe manslaughter was one of the charges.

She should get out of jail on Friday and make her way to the airport. She should get on a plane to Atlanta or Chicago. And then when she gets there, she should disappear.

She will not have an easy time whereever she ends up. She does not have OJ’s money or charisma.

You will eventually see her on the cover of Hustler or Playboy, and then on a spate of reality shows, and then she will be found on the bathroom of some sleezy hotel with either a needle in her arm, or a bullet in her head. Or both.

Is child endangerment a crime in Pinella county?

What happened to all the check fraud? She drained her friend Amy Huizenga’s checking account writing checks she found in Amy’s car while Amy was on vacation.

Its over. She got off. Chances are on Thursday she will walk with time served. There won’t be any additional charges or trial. The Tribe has spoken.

I would think there are some very unanswered questions this judge might want to know about

The trial is over. There are no further charges on docket before this judge. It is not his place to initiate investigations and or recommend charges. His job is done. Period.

The jury made a good decision based on what was presented - speculation, circumstances, and personality of the defendant aside. For that, they should be commended.

Justice to the responsible shall be forthcoming, and the manner in which it is delivered is not for man to determine. I am comfortable with the matter being in greater hands than ours at this point.

Not much they can do in criminal court. The prosecutor went for the throat and charged her with Murder 1. She was found Not Guilty so cannot be tried again for any lesser offense.

Someone (but who?) could bring up a civil suit, though.

Actually, that’s not quite correct (was a Prosecutor for 25 years). You can not be tried for the same offense OR any lesser included offense arising from the same set of operative facts.

Then pray tell me what happened to the officers tried and found not guilty in California in the Rodney King case? They were then tried again, using the same operative facts, for the same "crime" and found guilty. A clear case of double jeopardy, which happens a lot when the Feds, and sometimes State AG's want to make a political point.

It was a different crime with a different jurisdiction. One was a State trial and the other was a Federal trial. The State offense, I believe, was “Use of Excessive Force”. The Federal charge was “Violation of Civil Rights”.

One is not a lesser included offense of the other and it is two different jurisdictions. Even though the facts are the same, you are missing the “lesser included offense” requirement.

Pinellas is a blue county (where the jurors came from).

I’ll tell you something else. The night of the first election of Bush, where they did the first recount and needed to find thousands of votes, Pinellas came up with a huge chunk, I think quite a few hundred. Which a friend of mine, in a position to know, told me they would.

She called me that first night and told me there would be a ton of vote fraud, and all over FL the dems had illegal votes secreted which would suddenly come out of the woodwork, just enough to force a recount. And she was right.

And that’s Pinellas.

.... Put a fork in it, she has been deemed Innocent and another murderer will be set free to enjoy the freedoms as all others do under our Constitution.

Not to belabor the point that she was tried by a jury of her peers and was found to be NOT GUILTY of the charges against her. Not guilty only meant that the jury didn't necessarily believe the prosecutors case as presented, not that they believe she was innocent. She was NOT found to be INNOCENT which is an entirely different matter altogether.

But it doesn't matter either way. Even though I was not in the courtroom every single day listening to testimony I am one of those many who remain convinced that Casey escaped justice in that courtroom. I can only hope that she gets that justice in some other form on down the road eventually. At least she'll have to answer for herself when she stands before her Creator one day.

.... So that is my question- can she be?

IMO, yes she could be charged with additional lesser crimes but again, IMO the prosecutor would come across as having a bad case of sour grapes and would likely be denigrated for it, again IMO. This verdict was a gross miscarriage of Justice, IMO.

.... The reason for this is to keep the State from doing something like charging you with First Degree ... losing ... coming back and charging you with Second Degree ... losing ... etc.

Makes sense. Thanks for the info.

I like the way you’re thinking. That would seem to hold some possibilities of putting her in jail as an unrelated crime put OJ in prison.

not if nobody buys the book/sees the movie/reads the paper, etc.

Haleigh Cummings father, Ron and sometimes step-mother Misty are exactly the kind of people I pictured sitting on Casey’s jury from the start.

Psychopaths always trust their own instincts completely and they never worry about anything. I don’t believe Casey ever for a minute believed she’d be convicted.

I’ve known a psychopath like her. Even when she was caught straight out in court doing something illegal, she was never once punished for it. For some unknown reason I find that these psychopaths are always blessed or charmed and usually do get away with just about anything, or as in this case everything.

Pinellas County seceded from Hillsborough County in 1912. Hillsborough County is where Tampa is located. Tampa has often been referred to as the Detroit of the South. Been there once in 1992. I was shocked at how backwards parts of Tampa were then and apparently still are there and in surrounding areas.

I know that in a court of law I am wrong with my opinion, buuuuut how can a Federal court take jurisdiction in the King case? With the tortured reasoning that had to have taken place there, why not charge Kasey Anthony with a civil rights violation? Ask a lib, all living people have a right to safe housing, medical care, happiness and the very best a family can provide? Clearly poor Caylee was the victim of violations of many of her “rights”.
