We need out. I know wherever we move, we will be looked at with suspicious eyes because of our heavy NY accent.

However, that is no worry of mine, once they get to know us. Heck, I wouldn't be surprised if we were more “red” than they are!

My son moved to New York state and said he was very accepted by the locals there. Still pretty close to a number of them, though he's back in Texas now.

You might consider living in a more rural area, if redder is better.
