If you like sports and you missed Sunday’s game you missed something extraordinary and I am not a soccer fan by any means. It was a heroic effort against very questionable officiating.

I only caught the end of that game... but what an end! That was a beautifuly crafted goal by the USA to tie it up and that one critical save during the shoot out too!

Generally I only follow men's soccer but that was a definitely a game worth watching.

Ten minutes of free kicks, then play the supposed game.

So happy for them
Glad they are playing Japan instead of Sweden
Both are tough
US has a very tough final

Statuesque?

Best description I’ve run across was a Brit. commentator who referred to her as “lumbering down the field like a siege tower”. Yeah, well, she’s OUR siege tower.

Thank God we’re not meeting Sweden again! Although those little dudettes are pretty good...

I prefer statuesque.

Naturally, who scored the spectacular last gasp equalizer to bring the game to penalty kicks? Wambach, of course! The statuesque striker kept her nerve to hammer the ball into the net with a well placed header.

Well I'm enjoying seeing her receiving her reward for her patience and perseverance through that long drought. It couldn't be coming at a better time for her or the team.

Man United’s over here at the moment, went 4-1 against an MLS team in Boston last night. Hard to believe the new season's only a month away.

Wambach has a niggling injury so she probably been lumbering a bit.
