Public schools in California will be required to teach students about the contributions of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender Americans starting Jan. 1 after Gov. Jerry Brown on Thursday signed a controversial bill to add the topic to the social sciences curriculum.
Textbooks now must include information on the role of LGBT Americans, as well as Americans with disabilities, though California's budget crisis has delayed the purchasing of new books until at least 2015.
Still, opponents questioned the effect the bill would have and the need for explicit instruction for all students about a relatively small group.
The bill "does absolutely nothing to reduce bullying, improve the poor state of our education system, ensure students graduate or prepare them for global competitiveness," said Paulo Sibaja, legislative director of the Capitol Resource Institute, a socially conservative organization in Sacramento. "Instead it diverts precious classroom time away from science, math, reading and writing, and focuses on the agenda of a small group of people."

Presumably, the California syllabus will deal in great detail with the Gay contributions to the causes of the worldwide AIDS and STD epidemics.
Thank God that this law only applies to public schools - my son is safe from this nonsense (and gets a far superior education) in his private Christian school.
I’m surprised the gay Mafia did not try to force ALL schools, both public and private, to include this trash.
Never have so few enjoyed so much new found privileges for such a small contribution to a society so in need of a more sane approach to procreation and family rearing.

No, because while the law specifies that you are to teach about the "accomplishments" of gays, you cannot include any material that reflects badly on them. So, for example, while it would be okay to teach about Harvey Milk, it would be illegal to mention that John Wayne Gacy, Jeffrey Dahmer, etc were gay or had gay tendencies.
If I were a parent of one of these students....there would be pages missing from the “textbook”....very carefully cut out...

How many Christian and/or conservative government teachers will willing open the government schools in late August and **willingly** implement, aid, and support this horrific agenda? How many will hand out the textbooks and complete the assignments? Hm?
( Just wondering)
Oh!...And...Any Christian and/or conservative who thinks they can sneak in a little opposing thought into their classroom are, indeed, teaching an important lesson. They are teaching the children that conservatives and Christians are SNEAKY!

The following applies to ALL government teachers in a GENERAL manner and is NOT NOT NOT directed at any individual here on Free Republic:
Haven’t we read many times, here on Free Republic, that there are many “good” teachers in our government K-12 schools. Really? Is that so? Then how can the following be “good”?
Every day, ALL government teachers **willingly** go into government schools and **willingly** take a paycheck for teaching their students to think and reason godlessly. The government schools BY LAW are godlessly secular in their worldview. The children must learn to think and reason godlessly merely to cooperate in the classroom and do assignments.
No one is holding a gun to any government teacher’s head as they work to undermine the parents and the child’s faith.
Also...Let’s go further. Again, how can the following be “good”?
**ALL** ( Yes! **every**!) government schools in this nation are socialist-funded, compulsory for all those whose parent’s can’t ransom them, and managed by the collectivist voting mob. Merely by attending children learn to be comfortable with taking money from their neighbor for a service their parents want for tuition-free. Well?...If government can give “free” school, why not a thousand other wants and needs?
Why on earth would any “good” teacher agree to uphold, establish, and run a system that teaches children to be comfortable with socialism, government compulsion, and submission to the voting collectivist mob? No one is holding a gun to their heads when they do this. No one is threatening them or their families with harm as they collect their paychecks.
The TSA airport searches and the coming Death Panels are not an accident. They are a result of generations of citizens being conditioned in government schools by government teachers ( who seem so sweet and love their cats) to placidly accept government compulsion.
Yes, some Christian and/or conservative teachers will say that they are trying to sneak in some Christian and/or conservative principles into their classroom. Well! They **are** teaching an important lesson. They are teaching children that Christians and conservatives are timid and SNEAKY!
Let’s use an extreme example. The Nazi concentration camps.
Would a “good” German WILLINGLY agree to work in the Nazi concentration camps because he might sneak a few crumbs to the prisoners once in a while? Or... would the **truly** “good” German join the resistance and work his guts out to help as many prisoners to escape as possible, and strive bravely and valiantly to permanently close down the concentration camps?
So... The genuinely ***good** teachers are NOT working for the godless, socialist-funded, compulsory, and voter mob managed government schools. They are working their guts out to see they are completely closed down. And...They are doing their best politically and culturally to see that children have other alternatives. They are warning parents not to send their children into the government schools.
Please remember that when you meet dear Mrs. Smilely ( the teacher who loves her cat) in church or at the supermarket, that every working day she is establishing, supporting, and upholding government schools that teach children to think godlessly, to be comfortable with taking their neighbor’s money for “free” stuff, and to submit meekly to the crushing heel of the collectivist voting mob. None of that can that be “good”!
Finally....There have NEVER been “good” government schools or “good” government teachers. From their inception in the mid-1800s to early 1900s, government K-12 schools have been socialist-funded, compulsory, and managed by the collectivist voting mob. Why should we be surprised that one or two generations later that we had Woodrow Wilson, the IRS, the federal reserve, unions, feminism, direct election of senators, and Franklin D. Roosevelt’s New Deal?
Yes, the government schools, at first offered up a lukewarm and generic Protestantism. We know what Christ does with the lukewarm. He spits them out of His mouth! By my grandmother’s day ( born 1894), the government schools were godlessly secular with a sprinkle of prayer in the morning.
Conclusion #1 : There is not now, and never has been even one good government school! There is not now, and never has been, a good government teacher!
Conclusion #2: If Islam takes hold in this nation, it is because government schools, like the Death Eaters, have sucked the souls out of our nation’s children and their parents.

Just by their presence ( or failure to be fired) these conservative and Christian teachers WILL teach two important lessons!
1) Christians and conservatives are hypocrites for teaching a lifestyle they KNOW is harmful to children.
2)Christians and conservatives will sell their souls for a paycheck and a pension.

As a teacher, I’d just leave out those parts- “We’re skipping this chapter.” But then again, no power on earth could convince me to teach in California....
As long as they’re gonna teach homosexual history, I think Californication should also include the entire range of sexual preference practices. Among them rape, sadomasochism, bestiality, NAMBLA and toe suckers. I mean it’s only fair, right?
My wife and I have been on the fence about whether to send our kids to public school or to home school. Today we have made our decision. It’s very sad to see how far California public schools have fallen. I felt like I received a good education in them...but that was nearly 30 years ago.
To give an extreme example, do you think that there may have been nice, sweet, pretty secretaries who had pretty flowers in the garden managing the Nazi shoe boxes filled with Jewish names?
And....Please remember that the homosexual agenda is only *one* of the many fundamental flaws of government schooling.
The entire system of government schooling is built upon a corrupt foundation. All government owned K-12 schools are the very definition of a socialist-funded social program, compulsory for all who can not be ransomed, and collectivist vote mob controlled. **NOTHING** good can come of that.
We have American citizens meekly submitting to TSA scanners and soon to Death Panels because they were taught to be passively compliant to government and collectivist voter mob compulsion in their government schools!!!!
Government schools are also godless, and establish the religion of godless secular humanism. Yet...children are forced to attend if their parents can not pay the jizya needed to ransom them, and taxpayers are forced to pay for this active destruction of Judeo Christian belief and establishment of an abhorrent religious worldview. ALL children who attend government schools WILL learn to think and reason godlessly. ( Yes! **all**!) They must if they are to cooperate with the classroom and the assignments.
Government schools have **always** been a progressive idea since their beginning in the mid-1800s to early 1900s! That the Gramscian Marxist would use them to further the destruction of the family, individual resourcefulness, and their goal of one world communism was inevitable!
Again! It is time that we **SHUNNED** all government school teachers. While they might be “nice” and love their cat, they are establishing corruption!
Even thirty years ago government schools were godless. You were taught to think and reason godlessly, even if, through the efforts of your parents. you were able to overcome this habit.
All government owned and run schools in this nation are godless in their worldview, and all children who attend **will** learn to think and reason godlessly. They must merely to cooperate with the classroom instruction and hand in assignments.
( And..Yes! I do mean **all**!)
