A cardinal flew into a large window on our veranda. The bird was out. My 3 daughters, crying, hoping against hope that the bird be revived, cojolled me to give mouth to beak recussitation to the injured bird. Alas,....we called the code about 5 minutes into my valorous attempt to revive the unfortunate avian. The bird was pronounced dead at the scene 5 minutes after the collision.

I saw an Hummingbird get "smack" into an umbrella during a wind gust.
Pick the bird up, placed it gently on a nearby wire table, away from the
(very interested) cat....it awoke...preened itself and flew away.
the cat was very (very) frustrated.
