"So I hope that you spend some of your next several years in prison thinking about the choices you made"

Arrogant fool - he'll be thinking about how you talked down to him. 15 years is a long time. He's already working on parole, that's why he's so polite.

A 15 year sentence will translate to 2½ years at the most, considering it's a property crime. Not bad (for the criminal) for a first degree felony.

He’s lucky...at least the prosecutor was willing to press charges...I got told no in my particular circumstances...apparently girl friends don’t get charged when they roll their former boy friend (and my father). That’s OK....it will be answered in a more appropriate manner this way.....

It wasn't his first crime.

FL isn't friendly to repeat offenders either.

We get really, really mad if the perp had a gun, whether he used it, flashed it, or just kept it in his pocket.

Shouldn’t this be in blogs versus general chat ?

I’m appalled at this grave error !

I’m guessing he lives in one of the upscale complexes that have been built just north of downtown in the last decade or so.

But I’m not hip either.

You are lucky the police caught you before I did.

If you don't believe me, drop on by in 15 years.

Word....

When I saw that pic, I kept thinking that he looked vaguely familiar. Then it came to me, he looks like NCIS Director Leon Vance. (I love that show)

You should see the comments about how this sentence was “racist”. But this dude has a LONG rap sheet. Apparently he enjoys jail, and seems to have learned nothing from the previous experiences on the inside. “Smart” thieves get busted once. “Stupid” thieves get out of jail and go right back to stealing again. And they can’t do basic math that says the second time you’re caught, the sentence is longer, and the third time is even longer. Repeat until it gets into their thick skulls.

Actually I’m glad burglary doesn’t carry a life sentence. It would give the perps an incentive to kill everyone.

I am all for punishing criminals, but 15 years for burglary?

Did you forget your sarcasm tag?

Personally, it would not bother my in the least if he was put away for 30 years. This isn't this guys first time at the rodeo

Get really hard time for committing felonies and there will be a LOT less of them.

I got the opportunity to address from the stand the woman who murdered my husband. With her, I’m certain it went in one ear and out the other. However, there was another prisoner sitting next to her and he received my message.

He (or his attorneys) apparently have learned nothing from Casey Anthony. Deny everything and name a nanny or family member for the crime/cover up. Seems there are jurors that will fall for that.

From the mention that he was a convicted felon, I’m inferring that he has prior convictions. Repeat offenders are going to repeat.
