On my About this Mac; it shows everything except it shows 4GB; not 7 GB. No one has ever said that before. Do I have to take this in?
See above. It needs 7GB of hard disk space to install. Open a window in Finder and it will show the GB available at the bottom of the window.
You need 2 GB of RAM, sounds like you have 4GB.
You will need 7 GB of Hard Drive disk space - I would hope you have a lot more than that. Chances are your hard drive came with 300 GB or more.
Some one has probably answered all this for you as I slowly scroll down.
I updated this afternoon from Snow Leopard to Lion and it was a piece of cake. It first downloads a small app, about 700k, that handles it all for you. The 4G is RAM, which you need, I think.
“About This Mac” - 4GB is the amount of RAM (minimum system requirement for Lion is 2GB - though I wouldn’t think it would be very pleasant to run with only that).
The 7GB minimum suggested is free HARD DISK space - a completely different animal than what you posted.
