I have. That was the source of my information - the link from his wikipedia entry. I don’t think it was mentioned there, but I’d heard that there were post French Revolutionary suggestions to try it more crudely, which were quashed by the then Pope. Sick, sick people. Pre- ‘Enlightenment’ it would have incurred the death penalty.
