I did cancel my Netflix account a few hours after getting information about the price increase. Just a horrible marketing plan by Netflix. I'll be hitting Redbox and Boxee from here on out.

Netflix's recent decision to change its pricing structure may be fueling interest by Dish to keep as many Blockbuster stores open as possible.

It's a nice thought, but it won't work. I'm ditching Netflix DVD subscription because of the new pricing, and keeping the streaming. As for DVDs, I still won't be going to Blockbuster. I'll hit up one of the local vending machines.

At $8.00, even the streaming isn't worth that. Netflix's plan to separate the two was just plain stoopid IMO. I canceled.

I will be dropping Netflix as of end of August. I do not think a 60 pct increase for the same service is warranted. Will be looking elsewhere or reading more books. I hope someone takes on Netflix in the marketplace.

Netflix's pricing plans change considerably in September! (I will be dropping my NETFLIX subscription soon after the price change!!!)

Some of the DVD Blu-Ray movies we have rented, have been on DISH in HD!!

Why rent from NETFLIX we we see them for free??

The streaming is worth it to me. I rarely used the DVD service. And since 8/month is my total entertainment bill, it’s not that bad.

Don’t you PAY for Dish? I use Netflix because I don’t pay for television. 8 bucks a month beats 30, 50, 80 or whatever people pay these days. Looks like come september there might be a good buying opportunity in Netflix stock.

I kept my Netflix rental for. blu-rays, and dumped the worthless streaming. Price for three at a time went down about $5 a month.

I have way too much invested in HT setup to watch lo-res crappy video and audio buffer and break up. Even at higher bandwidth than I can get in my area, Netflix told me the resolution is nowhere near blu-Ray quality.

So I kept the part I actually use and got a price cut.

Watching movies on Dish in high def is still not as good as Blu-ray and costs $6 a pop.

I use the 9.99 service for one DVD and unlimited live stream but I will not spend 16 buck for the same service. I might if they added popcorn and a box of chocolates.

As did I. I had the 3 discs + Blu-ray + unlimited streaming. I've got so much to watch from discs I've purchased + programs archived on my DISH HD hard drive that I was not using Netflix much anyway. The introduction of the ridiculous new pricing plan seemed a good time to say "hasta la vista" to Netflix.
