If WT Chuck is looking for something general purpose (hunting, long distance shooting, protection), a 308 is a decent caliber. If it’s mainly plinking and occasional hogs, then a 357 is good. If it’s mainly 2 legged varmit repellant, the 5.56 is a great candidate!
