JEANNETTE, Pa. -- Jeannette police say a postal worker lied when he said he was mugged outside a post office all because he wanted a break from life.
Jeff Gogets, 50, had facial bruising when a fellow employee found him unconscious at the side entrance to the Jeannette post office in April.
Gogets said he'd been attacked from behind and his son, Nick Gogets, told Channel 4 Action News that $150 was missing from his father's wallet. At the time Gogets told police that he didn't remember anything because it happened so fast.
However, Channel 4 Action News' Ashlie Hardway reported that police said surveillance video gathered by postal inspectors showed no attack.
