A couple of years ago Lance Armstrong, after competing in the TDF, road the Leadville 100 - a 100 mile mountain bike race. He beat the 6 time winner by almost 30 minutes and road the last 20 miles on a flat tire. A friend of mine road that race and quoted Armstrong as saying that the 2100+ mile Tour De France was a “warm-up ride” for the Leadville 100. These guy’s are machines.

I was wondering about the flat tire thing, then I re-read and saw mountain bikes. Much lower pressure tires than road, right?

Still, that had to be a major boat anchor to drag along....
