STEWARTSTOWN — One week after an 11-year-old seemingly vanished from the home she shared with her mother and stepfather, the body of Celina Cass was recovered Monday from the Connecticut River, about a half-mile from where she lived.

“We brought Celina home,” said New Hampshire Senior Assistant Attorney General Jane Young, her voice cracking at times during a media briefing Monday night, “obviously not the way we wanted to bring her home.”

Young said Cass' death is being treated as suspicious and a criminal investigation is under way, “based on what we have seen visually.”

Everyone here has been torn up about this. Really a horrible story.

Something about her step-dad doesn’t sit well with me. His mental instability, the fact that he has a criminal record. I wouldn’t be surprised if he murdered this beautiful child since he has a history of threatening people but will wait to see what happens. Polly Klaas was abducted from her home by a total stranger so its possible that is what happened here

I’ve been involved in a couple searches around here some years ago. One turned out good and one didn’t.

Statistically the step dad is a very dangerous thing. Statistically.

Let’s see where the evidence leads.

This girl, her mother and her biological father all have different last names. That alone is not a great sign.

Yeah, alarm bells are ringing for me too.

I hope they get the slimeball that did this. Child abuse and murder makes me want to return the favor on the perp.

The death of children is always sad for they are our tomorrows, and when they die a little bit of what might of been goes with them. Those who hurt children are the worst of all criminals.

What other way is there to see? It's a horrible tragedy but I do get tired of local law enforcement trying on 50-cent words and sounding foolish.

For anyone on facebook...gotta check out the stepdad’s page!

Check out his interests, friends (all women, half naked), and comments on his FB wall. This is a married man...a stepfather? He is creepy.

This guy on FB is retired Air Force and lives in West Stewartstown, NH, as noted on a comment on his wall.

Her body was discovered in the Connecticut River near a hydroelectric dam that spans between STEWARTSTOWN and Canaan, N.H

Facebook:

Wendell Noyes

“Has worked at USAF Retired. Went to Canaan Memorial High School.”

This HAS to be him!

Not Canaan, NH, Canaan, Vermont. Canaan, NH is nowhere near Stewartstown.

Yeah I am checking out his page now, what a strange dude..he has some very “interesting” friends for a guy who is married..”Hey Sexy happy bday” I tell ya if my sister’s husband had something like that written on his wall my sis would want to know what the hell is going on. The women he follows all look like strippers. I think the police already have the step-dad on their radar..if I were them he would be suspect #1

That’s him; I’ve been keeping up on this story for the past week. That’s the step-dad.

Anyone who hurts a child deserves neither understanding or mercy. If we made quick work of destroying these monsters maybe their kind would get the message that we are serious about protecting children.

Maybe it’s better to wait to see where the evidence leads.

The article I read earlier stated that the stepfather had at least two relatives who were sex offenders. What “mother” in her right mind brings a violent schizophrenic with sex offender relatives into a house with her young children?
