Ah baloney, any LEO is isn’t willing to use their judgement should be run out of town.

The county where I live estimates there are 700,000 feral cats running around.

They kill tons of birds, rabbits, and are very destructive to natural wildlife. Feral cats cannot be domesticated and will attack pets and people who try to ‘save’ them. They also carry numerous diseases and parasites.

Shooting them solves a lot of problems.

Not baloney at all. They run a very real risk of losing their jobs if they do not enforce the law across the board. Especially when revenue collection is the prime result of enforcement.

I remember back in the 80s seeing a story about how the authorities had saved a crow from “the cruelest fate - domestication”. Some lady saved a baby crow. The crow loved her and after being set free, kept returning. Some bureaucrat got wind of it and “saved” the crow - by locking him in a government barn. I believe the lady got in trouble also.
