The county where I live estimates there are 700,000 feral cats running around.

They kill tons of birds, rabbits, and are very destructive to natural wildlife. Feral cats cannot be domesticated and will attack pets and people who try to ‘save’ them. They also carry numerous diseases and parasites.

Shooting them solves a lot of problems.
