Nobody won; the United States of America, its citizens, me and my children lost big time.

Is he EVER right?

I wish someone had kept track of all the predictions he’s made over the years. Every time I hear him he seems less and less sane.

Luckily I don’t watch Fox anymore. I prefer Conservative viewpoints. :)

Our team got swamped 55-3. Coach Morris is elated as he tells the press, “Going into this game, NO ONE thought we would score, and look what we’ve done.”
“Yeah, but Coach, you scored against the third string!”
“No matter, we’ve got something to build upon now!”

RAH RAH!! Bob

The Debt compromise was overall a bad deal for America overall because run away spending was not brought under control.

There is no way that that was going to happen with Democrats controlling the Senate and Obama in office. It was also not going to happen because the American People are simply not yet ready to make the correct hard choices needed to resolve the problem

This avoids addressing the cutbacks in entitlements that must occur at some point .

Tactically, Obama and the Democrats get to keep hiding how dangerous the situation is by giving the American people a false sense of normalcy by continuing to borrow 42 cents out of every Federal dollar spent but this may not be so good for them in 18 months.

We were faced with tow bad outcomes.

First is serious economic pain caused by spending cutbacks. The Republicans and Tea Party would obviously get blamed for this and Republicans would have been blown out in the 2012 election cycle

The second is an even more serious pain caused by unsustainable debt expansion. The economy is already slowing and there is noting we can do to prevent the slowing.

This is going to be a slow motion train wreck for the economy over the next several years.

Unemployment is going up, food prices are going up, cost of living is going up, the dollar may go down and housing prices will go down.

We will see credit downgrades, Russia's Vladimir Putin and the Chinese dissing us for fiscal irresponsibility and the pressure from the world economic community to get our spending under control.

We will have failed Treasury Auctions because people don't want to lend to a country that is on the brink of a sovereign debt crisis.

At the same time The American People will see the dramatic real consequences of Sovereign Debt default by Greece and other EU countries as the EU deals with this before we do. We will be shocked and terrified at what we see.

Obama and the Democrats will shoulder most of the blame as they deserve to because they are party of Spend, Spend and Spend more..

Overall, the American people may finally be worried enough about the future to deal with our budget problems in about a year. Obama and the Democrats will try to sweep things under the rug until after the next election but they may not be able to for very long

The real key to this will be the unravelling and collapse of the European Socialist Welfare State, which has been the ideal for the Democrats for the last 30 years, due to over spending on Entitlements and nationalized health care. This collapse is in progress and is going to get worse as the US economy stalls further.

Americans will find that the Democrat's highly touted European Socialist model is not the utopia they have been making it out to be and that America may wish to back off going down that road.
