I completely agree. Much like "hate" crimes, those transgressions associated with drugs (other than the underlying possession or distribution crimes currently in existence) are already against the law. I should be able to consume an eight-ball in the privacy of my home without concern. If that consumption results in a crime, away I go. Right now, the illegality of the blow tends to make me commit crimes to acquire more of it.

Much like the famous "now madam we are just haggling about the price" hypothetical about prostitution, with legal alcohol, we are merely haggling about who gets the money.

Violent offenders are what concerns me the most. Courts are too lenient with this. I've known people who smoked pot and the ‘Reefer Madness’ simply wasn't there. I don't care too much what people do. Just don't cause me problems. I wouldn't be consuming a eight-ball. My problem is that our Constitutional rights are being stripped from us because they care about our welfare. Yeah right.
