Old episode of Hawaii Five-O -- a crook apparently leaves no fingerprints behind. The cops are baffled. Then they realize that workers at the pineapple plantation have no fingerprints -- long exposure to the juice just burns them off. After that, the list of potential suspects became very narrow, and Five-O found their man.
Moral of the story: having no fingerprints makes you very easy to identify.

About 15 years ago I had to do a lot off work with copy machine paper. At the time the copy paper was acidic.
It burned my finger prints off and made the tips crack and bleed.

I can see the pineapple plantation workers missing fingerprints. Bromelain (a protein-digesting enzyme) is extracted from pineapples and is used as a meat tenderizer and to remove tissue on burn patients.
