The Perry-Giuliani Alliance
Race42012 ^ | Anthony Dalke

The two men are good friends, and Perry was the only Republican governor in the country to endorse Giuliani’s presidential campaign in 2008. Payback could benefit Perry on a number of fronts – most notably fundraising – and would likely strengthen his status as a top-tier candidate if he decides to run.First and most importantly, Giuliani has deep connections in the New York City Republican money world.

(snip)

Perry has never had to raise money under federal contribution limits — $2,500 for the primary and $2,500 for the general election is all any single donor can give — and would have to change his model of finding a handful of major donors who can write huge checks to one centered around big bundlers who can collect hundreds of smaller checks.

His fundraising base in Texas gives Perry a foothold in one of the most donor-rich states in the country. With Giuliani making introductions for him in New York City, Perry would almost certainly have the financial foundation he would need to make a credible run – particularly given some of the less-than-inspiring sums reported over the past three months by his would-be rivals for the nomination.

Giuliani is pro-abortion, pro-gay marriage, and anti-Second Amendment. Mayor Rooty made NY a sanctuary city for illegals and put pedophiles and sex offenders in top NYC jobs. He carried on a public affair while still married---and announced he would move his wife and kids into the streets so he could live with his mistress ......that's just for starters.

Rudy is persona non grata on FR. Best way to lose posting privileges is to support Rooty.

Endorsing Rooty for president.

Vote-crazed Perry is gaga for amnesty. Doing the quid
pro quo----shower illegals with tax dollars....get votes.

Perry sees exceptions in his opposition to abortion, takes pride in promoting the wind scam for the rest of us.

Perry’s carefully orchestrated plan to co-opt the Iowa caucuses without actually being one of the official candidates failed miserably.

The Perry for president drumbeat was incessant as he laid low——at the last minute he made his move——Perry hoped to catapult to the top and make mincemeat out of the other candidates.

Iowans didn’t buy it. Perry had a miserable showing——coming in at the back of the pack.

He’s using the Obama strategies and I find it to be totally disgusting. His supporters are accusing anyone who questions him of being liberal trolls. Refusing to talk to the media and flooding the net with pro Perry messages and attempting to control the message.

Most disgusting in my opinion were his attempts to grab the headlines from events he wasn’t even man enough to be part of.

Some of our Texas FReepers are saying this is all typical Perry. When he does something unpopular he blames the legislature and if its popular its all him.

Just one more Eddie Haskell RINO.

You nailed it terrifically. Omao's media massager Anita (gag) Dunn said later that THEY decided what the media would know about Omao.

Most disgusting in my opinion were Perry's attempts to grab the headlines from Iowa events he wasn’t even man enough to be part of.

That got him nowhere---he expected to sail to victory, to be carried out of the arena like a hero.

Now he's a big flop. Wonder what he'll do next.

Look, I survived April 2007 so I won't go too far - but RG's governance 1993-2001 NYC was transformative, he punched the leftist media in the mouth every day and never gave them an inch, he said exactly what he was going to do and then he did it.

No comparison with McCain, IMO.

Lots of fine governors out there who would make poor presidents.

In Michigan, Rick Snyder has far surpassed my expectations but I would have a hard time supporting him for president. He’s pure business but refuses to talk about social issues. He also has a green streak a mile wide. He also took high speed rail money which is why I write to him once a week asking him to tell Obama “No thank you”.

“Rick Perry/Rudy Giuliani equals “The RINO Ticket”, and it would help boost ALL of the truly non-RINO candidates for ‘12 POTUS, IMHO. Also, having Rick Perry in the race damages all of the other RINO candidates in the race.”

Agree. Perry/Giuliani assures us that we’ll have a conservative as third choice in 2012 and enough Republicans will defect to assure that the Dems hold the White House. So goodbye Supreme Court.

For Heaven’s Sake, the least Perry can do is line himself up with a conservative, to give the ticket some degree of balance.

“His (Rudy’s) lawsuits against American gun manufacturers are hard to forgive.”

No, they’re IMPOSSIBLE to forgive. It’s a DIRTY, backdoor, and unconstitutional method to try to force his policies on a country that has already made up its mind regarding guns, and has elected people that represent that viewpoint.

"Yeah, in 1988. It’s 2011."

Gore wasn't running again in 2011, so Perry had to find someone else to endorse. He chose to back a (corrupt) liberal police-state fascist from New York. If you think Perry and Giuliani are on your side, I'm not sure which side you're on.

Rudy, Romney, Huckabee or McCain

Those were our choices in the last TX primary and McCain had already won the nomination before we voted.

I voted for Romney in the primary, not because I liked him but because I wasn't about to vote McCain.

Meant to say 2008, rather than 2011, but no matter really. A reptile is a reptile, even if he’s changed his colors to blend into the background. Perry’s trying an 11th-hour image change to make himself look like something he’s not. I could never elect someone who doesn’t even answer to his proper name as president.

“See the Chameleon,
Lying there in the sun.
All things to everyone,
Run, run away.”

I don’t blame Perry for endorsing Rudy in 2008 - the GOP choices were bad all around. But it would be political suicide to have Rudy on the ticket. Bernie Kerick is just the starting point of his warts.

Practically every inspirational person has had warts. Only one did not.

Hang around FR candidate threads for a few days, and you will find out that in fact there are two. :-)
