Once we tax the rich, all problems in America will disappear overnight.

Can I suggest that Rep. Clyburn needs an attitude adjustment? Financially speaking, entitlements are a huge piece of the federal budget. He should not be going in there with a political agenda or a pre-conceived idea of what’s going to happen there. This committee is set up to search for savings and to cut government spending.

If he and other Democrats have this attitude, they won’t be able to execute the prime directive of the committee, and this whole effort will fail.

Closing the so-called "wealth gap" would be much, much easier if certain discernible groups of Americans were willing to actually work for a living rather than enlist the Federal government to steal from their neighbors.

Lol! Before the loony left is done with this “debt reduction” committee, it's recommendation will be for $2 Trillion in new spending.

And what’s with this idea of “closing the wealth gap”???

That sounds like socialism to me.

The idea that he’s going to close the wealth gap goes beyond the scope of what this committee was set up to do.

The prime directive of this committee is to cut government spending, meeting the targets set in the legislation. It is NOT to “fix” other perceived problems in society.

Did Boner agree to this nonsense?

Of course he did, they are all working towards the same goal, just playing Kabuki Theater to make it look like there's a difference.

Rep. Clyburn want to close the wealth gag?

How about earning it. I know that is a novel idea.

I see why liberals don't care about educating anyone because they don't want their voters to understand how to make more money it doesn't involve the Government unless your a crook.

Leave it to the liberals to choose to tackle a non-problem, when we have so many real ones. This so-called ‘wealth gap’ is actually a ‘wealth range’, going from the truly destitute to Bill Gates. The fact that Mr. Gates and others like him have created their wealth does not make those on the other end of the scale any poorer, except by comparison. The only places that have no wealth gap are places that have no wealth.

Close the wealth gap?

Oh brother. There’s a chap with an open mind.

Boy, this Super Committee was and is just one stupid idea. There is no way this can work for the betterment of the republic.

“they won’t be able to execute the prime directive of the committee, and this whole effort will fail.”

And Boehner, Repubs will take the fall. They had Obama over a barrel, and let him out of it, too afraid of the DC media to do the right thing.

Lookee here, never-was CongressScum criminal:

If you continue the Marxist and racist robbery targeting us “wealthy”, we will just shut down our productivity, lay off our workers and thus dramatically slash our taxes, effectively draining your collectivist swamp.

Have someone read you “Atlas Shrugged”.
