When I saw Mars Attacks! in the theater, everybody cheered that scene.
Imagine that to write this nonsense about aliens killing us over global warming, they even had to ignore the part where the aliens kill us because we have nuclear weapons!!!
Klaatu look, planet Earth is 4 degrees warmer than uh, Al Gore thinks it should be! (Oh and they had a little thing called WWII but back to that temperature reading....)

They'd dismiss increased emissions as indicating nothing more than another stage in the normal cycle.

would be much more concerned about some of the extremely-well radar-and -human documented cases of UFO’s near ICBM facilities, or more generally military-related sightings of UFO’s from this time period (or the washington UFO 1952 event).
Its easy to make fun of the topic in general, but when you go and READ some of the DoD reports, from the 50s and 60s, they had objects visually observed from ground, sky, and radar doing things no technology on the planet do today.
I’m not afraid of those guys. They are 0-2. Keanue Reeves couldn’t do it either! ;-)
