I'm a 5th generation Non-Hispanic California Native. Not too many of us; even less of us still in CA...we both wised up, and got richer.

Spent 84-2003 in southern Oregon, but finally got Californicated out of there, too.

We bought our SD ranch in 1996, (and coincidentally, it was originally homesteaded 100 years earlier, 1896. That was 50 years after my progenitor & his family [that means 'ancestor' for those in Rio Vista] arrived at his U.S. Army duty duty station, the Benecia Arsenal, California Territory, in 1846.) and split our time between it & the Or-A-Gun home, until selling the Ore-Gone property in 2003.

That allowed full time ranch life here.
