It is the ultimate fancy dress outfit. The entire costume worn by John Wayne in his most famous western role is being auctioned off by his family and is expected to go for US$164,000 (£100,000).

lol....Saw one yesterday. Kalifornia plates on a wanna be SUV. 20 something metrosexual male(?) standing by the side of the road with a completed dazed look on his face. I called him into the freeway patrol, I assume they took care of his tire for him. I was not going to stop and change the tire for him, my daughters were taught how to change a tire before they were allowed to drive alone. They have changed tires by the side of the road more than once.

Really big fan of John Wayne. Out of all his stuff, I would love to have the shotgun that Ward Bond left in his will to John Wayne.

Both were on a hunting trip with John Ford, when by accident Wayne shot Ward Bond in the butt with it.

Wayne, Ken Curtis, Terry Wilson(from Wagon Train),and Frank McGrath (also from WT)all carried his coffin at his funeral.

Yep, same with my dad. All of us girls (3 of us)were taught how to change a car tire before we were permitted on the road.

I could still change a tire,but due to back surgery,have been warned not to try it.

I have AAA Plus,but in a pinch I could change a tire if I had to.

I do have a gripe with those power tools, that put the lugs on. Not sure I have the strength to take them off when they use them.

Loved his jumping the fence at the end of the movie.

If I recall, Wayne when he received his Oscar, said,"If I had known this, I would have put on that eyepatch years ago."

He really deserved one for at least one of these movies, The Searchers,Yellow Ribbon, or The Quiet Man.

Run down to your local auto parts store and pick up a "Gorilla Wrench." It has an extendable handle that will give you enough leverage to easily remove the tightest lug nuts, yet collapses into a size easily stored alongside your jack in whatever cubby hole your car provides for that purpose.

I have one in every vehicle.

I understand. Many newer vehicles have very specific torque specifications for lug nuts. Often over 100 ft lbs. Just a suggestion but Harbor Freight sells a 12 volt impact wrench that will easily get you through one tire change.
