Well the guy forgets that what she cooks is based on what is cooked in the American south.

IMHO, she makes a mockery of Southern cooking. She has become a parody. I'm sure her origins were true Southern cooking but what she has done is turn it into a big joke. The time she iced a cake with lard I almost threw up.

Agree 100%. It’s parody. Maybe all the competition between these cable food shows and networks are causing the cooks to do over-the-top stuff to garner ratings. I hate to think people from other places would believe that the exaggerated southern accent and outlandish behavior on that show is reality, As for the food, we had so many and such variety of fresh fruits and vegetables from huge spring and fall gardens (two growing seasons a year down here) we hardly had room left to eat that much of the rich recipes Paula Dean features on her show. Holidays, and special occasions excepted.
