BATON ROUGE - LSU senior quarterback Jordan Jefferson and other Tigers football players were implicated in a fight outside a Baton Rouge bar near campus early Friday morning, Baton Rouge Police said.
Public information officer Sgt. Don Stone said police don't know if Jefferson was a suspect or a victim in the incident, which took place about 2 a.m. Friday at Shady's, 623 E. Boyd, south of campus. The investigation was continuing late Friday evening.
Stone said 15 to 20 LSU football players were involved, according to witnesses, but were gone by the time police arrived. Jefferson was recognized but no other players were identified.
Stone said no arrests were made as of 6 p.m. Friday but could be forthcoming. He said Baton Rouge Police had not spoken to any LSU players as of Friday evening.
Stone said police were checking nearby businesses to see if security cameras provided any evidence. Security cameras at Shady's did not pick up the incident, Stone said.
Four people received minor injuries and went to area hospitals immediately after the incident, Stone said. He said the four are "cooperating fully," and that if probable cause exists for charges, they will be filed.
"They had bruises and cuts, they were battered," Stone said. "I foresee charges coming. We don't know by who. These guys in turn may have been the aggressors."
The Daily Reveille, LSU's student newspaper, reported in a Twitter post that one of the injured persons was Andrew Lowery, who confirmed to the Reveille he was involved in the fracas. When contacted by the Times-Picayune, Lowery declined comment, he said, on the advice of his attorney.
LSU Coach Les Miles held a team meeting Friday and issued a statement through the school sports information office.
"We are aware of the incident that took place at an off-campus location

Roll Tide Roll
Was?
I think it will be Alabama versus either Oklahoma or Boise State in the BCS Championship Game this season.
Still am.
Roll Tide Roll and roll over.
Not smart when you are getting ready to play Oregon in the first game of the season. If the Cowboys stadium roof is closed, it’s going to be a long day for LSU.
College athletes shouldn’t be hanging out in bars. They’ll have time for that when they get paid in the pros.
Okay... I’m 69 and have never had an attorney/lawyer on call.
How do these sleeze college students and various other law breakers afford to keep lawyers on retainers so that they always have one to call?
Maybe I’m a bit naive in these matters, but the replies to the media of those arrested seem to always include something about “my attorney” or “my lawyer”.
Do these jail house lawyers just buzz around like a swarm of mosquitoes, waiting on prey and hoping to earn more $$?
Not one word about the victims (one was a marine who was kicked in the head)
Typical redneck BS, only football matters.
