I doubt how this site is funded has anything to do with what sites are restricted or banned from being posted. At that, if it went from a voluntary, not for profit to a site that took advertising and was listed as a commercial venture, it could put it up for more lawsuit risk.
They could charge people for the privilege of joining and posting. I’ve been on other sites where that happened after it was all free.
Of course, the usership would go down sharply real fast.
