I respect your service and thank you for it. But it would seem some sort of madness or panic has infected the police throughout the country. It’s on this site all the time. What’s going on, in your opinion?
I don’t think it’s really that serious. I’m sure there are many more times cops have encountered dogs and NOT shot them in the same time frame than have. You only hear about the times a dog was shot.
Too many TV programs and movies about super cops (no such thing), too many programs about SWAT teams, to many police programs glorifying police in general (most deserve it, but not to the point of glorification). When you glorify any job, the nuts tend to want to become part of that scene.
Just let the police do their jobs without all they hype, and 99% will do their jobs and do them right. JMHO
