I heard Bloviating Bill praise congress for having the courage to pass TARP and saving the world.
1. I think they’ve proven beyond the shadow of any doubt that there is no possible way to spend yourself into prosperity. They’ve spent more money trying to do so than all previous attempts combined. Probably ten times more.
2. The Dems point of view SHOULD actually be: “well, it would have worked had they actually spent the money where they said they would... but at least Obama has successfully funded his next campaign.”

The following year, unemployment was back down to 6.7 percent and was only 2.4 percent by 1923.
