Calling the cops? What ever happened to the old fashioned method of opening your window and cursing at him for mowing at 4:30 in the @($*@$#(# morning? I only did that once for a neighbor whose pack of dogs started barking at 5:00 every day for a couple of weeks. I'm surprised I didn't get a visit from the cops for disturbing the peace when I got fed up and yelled at them.

I just wished he would have talked to me about it before he called the police, he said. If people wanted me to stop, I'd stop. According to police reports, Gage became argumentative when officers arrived and asked him to turn off his mower,
Something doesn't jibe between those two sentences.

This is especially dumb because of the heat this summer...
Maybe this person couldn't mow any other time? Just give them a warning or ticket. Why did they have to arrest them?

In the words of that great American lawn maintenance technician, Clyde (Big Boy) Prince: “I’ll give you my lawnmower when you take it from my cold, dead hands.”

Something doesn't jibe between those two sentences. What I suspect is that he replied "No" and that to the LEOs constituted 'argumentative'.

According to police reports, Gage became argumentative when officers arrived and asked him to turn off his mower,I suspect it went something like this:
Officer: turn off your mower
Lawnboy; WHAT?
Officer: I SAID TURN OFF YOUR MOWER
Lawnboy: WHAT? I CAN'T HEAR YOU OVER THE MOWER
Officer: TURN ... IT ... OFF
Lawnboy: YES, IT IS HOT, THAT'S WHY I'M MOWING THIS EARLY ... HEY!!! WHAT'S WITH THE CUFFS?and of course they were shouting!

Why are politicans, government workers and the cops acting like bullies these days? It is a culture and attitude of socialism that disrespects and assumes total control over “the masses.” It is not the same as a constitutional culture that respects and expects citizens to control themselves.
If you call the police these days, know you are calling for people to be seriously harmed - physically and/or legally. Call the police in a life and death situtation only unless you are a sadistic socialist. You know the outcome of harm before you pick up the phone.

To bad we can't follow cases like this over time. What might happen to him next if he challenges the ticket in court and because of the adverse publicity to the police?
