And, you got three station attendants checking your oil, cleaning your windshield, and handing out your S&H Green stamps! And a fill-up got you dish towels, stemware, or a six-place stainless steel flatware setting.

In High School during the mid 50’s gas at the discount stations was also 19 cents a gallon. If one of the guys drove use girls home, we had to dig into our pockets to come up with 19 cents so he could buy a gallon of gas...We all lived miles from school and many took the bus with a student discount card....10 cents...
